Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Private Portfolio Tracker, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use Private Portfolio Tracker. If you are under the required age, you may only use the app with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms.

3. Description of Service

Private Portfolio Tracker is a native iPhone app for manual investment portfolio tracking. You enter your holdings, and the app calculates your net worth, returns, and asset allocation. All data is stored locally on your device with optional encrypted iCloud sync.

The app does not connect to brokerage accounts, execute trades, or access any external financial services.

4. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Private Portfolio Tracker for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these terms and the Apple App Store terms of service.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Private Portfolio Tracker offers the following tiers:

Free

The free tier includes 1 portfolio, 3 accounts, 20 holdings, 12 snapshots, and 90-day chart history. No payment or account is required.

Pro Annual — $24.99/year

Pro Annual includes a free 1-month trial. After the trial, your subscription auto-renews at $24.99/year unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

Pro Lifetime — $79.99

Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks all Pro features permanently. No subscription or recurring charges.

Managing Your Subscription

All subscriptions are managed through the App Store. To cancel, open iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Private Portfolio Tracker > Cancel Subscription. Cancellation must occur at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Apple handles all payment processing, receipts, and refunds. We do not receive or store any billing information. For refund requests, contact Apple Support or use the "Report a Problem" link in your App Store purchase history.

6. Not Financial Advice

Private Portfolio Tracker is a data tracking tool, not a financial advisor. This app displays the holdings you enter for informational reference only. It does not provide investment recommendations, tax advice, or financial guidance. Calculated values such as XIRR returns and unrealized gains depend on the accuracy of data you enter.

Read-only by design: Private Portfolio Tracker uses read-only data that you manually enter. It cannot execute trades, move your funds, or access your brokerage accounts. Always consult a qualified financial advisor for investment decisions.

7. Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. Because all holdings are manually entered (or imported via CSV), the app reflects exactly what you provide. We are not responsible for investment decisions made based on inaccurate data entry.

8. iCloud Sync Disclaimer

iCloud sync is enabled by default. Your data is stored in your private CloudKit database. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app's settings. Changes take effect after restarting the app.

iCloud sync depends on Apple's infrastructure and your iCloud account status. We cannot guarantee iCloud availability, sync speed, or data integrity beyond what Apple provides. You are responsible for maintaining adequate iCloud storage for sync to function.

9. Intellectual Property

Private Portfolio Tracker, including its design, code, and documentation, is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the app except as permitted by applicable law.

10. Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Because we have no servers and collect no data, there is nothing for us to breach or disclose.

Our total liability to you for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license to use the app if you violate these terms. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the app. Upon termination, all local data is deleted. Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through the App Store.

13. Apple App Store Terms

To the extent applicable, the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ applies. These Terms are supplemental to the Standard EULA. In the event of a conflict between these terms and the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA prevails.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chandigarh, India.

15. Dispute Resolution

We want to resolve issues directly if possible. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and allow 30 days to resolve the matter informally.

16. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the Apple Standard EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and Private Portfolio Tracker regarding your use of the app. These terms supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
